2017 helloworld Wearable Creations


Entries close Sunday 20th August

This event will be staged at the CHB Municipal Theatre in Waipawa at 2pm & 7pm on the 2nd September 2017

  • When designing your garment, remember that it is to be exhibited in a choreographed staging therefore construction is important. Garment must be of sound construction and safe to wear. Must be able to be worn a minimum of two times.
  • All entries will be considered at preliminary judging. You will be notified of acceptance.
  • Garment cannot be altered or added to once entry is submitted.
  • All entries are modeled, one model per entry, backstage support will be provided by the organising committee (limited backstage room)
  • Garments are to be available to the judges throughout the day of performance. Must be left in change area between dress rehearsal and evening show.
  • All entries must be accompanied by the entry fee and a minimum of 2, and a maximum of 5 photos. Entry must have a Title and include a brief description outlining design concept, materials used and your construction process - LIMITED TO 100 WORDS.  No long stories please!
  • Online entries please attach photos in digital format, jpg preferred.
  • Garments will be judged on design concept -relationship to chosen category, creativity, innovation and workmanship. Also style, proportion, balance and fit.
  • Please make sure you adhere to category restrictions.
  • Entries will be judged during the full dress rehearsal. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at the conclusion of the evening performance. Please stay in costume until the prizes have been awarded. School categories will be announced at the conclusion of the 1st half of the evening performance.
  • Entrants-Models must be available at the CHB Municipal Theatre from 10am on the 2nd September 2017 for instruction and full dress rehearsal.
  • The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Business and Professional Women CHB reserve the right to use images of any and all entries and the use of the Supreme garment for BPW promotional purposes.
  • Please adhere to category restrictions, the overall theme of ‘Movie Magic’ applies to all entries.
  • School entries are all under the general theme ‘Movie Magic’
  • A makeup artist is available at a cost to the designer of $20-$25 per model. Bookings must be made for the makeup artist.  Email Rosie at trevrose@icloud.com
